TEACHING OUR CHILDREN THE FACTS USING THE ISSUE OF - God, the Bible and Creation
The third requirement for membership in our Order states: Only people who can truthfully swear that they believe in the tenets of the Christian Religion will be accepted.
It is wonderful to belong to a family that has such a criteria for membership. I suppose most people reading this post share our stand on the tenets of the Christian Religion. However, those of us who have children who live in another home may have some difficulty explaining facts that support the truth, in light of the present liberal society, by speaking of God and the Bible. The public education system is traveling very rapidly in the direction of breeding pure socialism. God instituted government in the Old Testament Scriptures. He did so by insisting that His people govern themselves independently under His direction. Since God was asked to leave our school system in the 70’s total destruction of God’s plan for government has grown by leaps and bounds. As our children, who are not home schooled or who are not in a credible Christian school, are taught these heresies, they journey further from God. Therefore, when we are blessed to have visitation with our kids we have a duty to God to enforce His principles.
We will have to break this lesson up into two parts.
1. Children who understand God is the Creator and the Bible is His written Word.
2. Children who are confused concerning the teaching of God and the Bible.
FACT: There are different races.
This statement seems simple but remember we are discussing teaching children. We must use small bits of opportunity with our young ones. This is a simple fact that can lead to a wealth of teaching opportunities.
The kidos who believe God is the Creator has no problem understanding that having different races is necessarily in God’s plan. There is a great debate concerning the origin of races, however, we must look through simple eyes of understanding when it comes to our young. The fact is that there are different races. I had a valuable conversation with my 8 year old last week concerning this truth. I did not get to deep I just capitalize on a statement she made about someone of a different race. I explained the fact that this was God’s will. Revelation 4:11 states:Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. As I taught this principle, in relation to the different races using the Bible, a seed was planted. That’s all we can do is plant and water for God will give the increase.
For the kidos who are confused concerning the teaching of God and the Bible this approach may not be effective, however, God has blessed us with a wealth of practical teaching aids in these situations. Even for the die hard atheist that are running around screaming nonsense there is one thing that they cannot settle in their minds, even though most will not admit this. Creation is a stumbling block to anti Christian, anti God, anti Bible activist. The Bible states in Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. This passage teaches us that the things that are visible teach us concerning the things that are invisible. They teach us concerning His eternal power. Just a glimpse of creation screams out “THERE IS A GOD”. When we are dealing with our children we can use creation to support the fact that there are different races and that this concept fits into a logical natural order. Teaching concerning the difference in the different types of birds, dogs, cats, trees and plants, proves that the natural order of things dictate that there are many natural differences in all species. Remember we are just planting seeds and not trying to make our kids understand totally what we believe and stand for, if we keep plating those seeds and watering them gently using simple facts, God will give the increase.
Scripture of the day:
1 Corinthians 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. _________________ Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
